Another technique that might help with the cloth room. 

1. load V4 in default pose

2. Skip to last frame and apply end pose.

3. back at frame one, load dynamic dress, making sure it is slightly above shoulders.

4. Clothify dress. make sure it IS a dynamic dress.  If not there could be numerous problems

5. set up collisions for figure.  (are hands, feet, head necessary? if not mark the boxes approriately)

6. run simmulation.
