I too started out with Studio, but tried Poser 7 and stayed -Dynamic clothing and hair, the Setup room, as well as BB's shaders conviced me to stay. 

But for someone who doesn't need those features might be perfectly happy with Studio, and more power to them.  These are applications, not sports teams, so I don't see it as a rivalry, but a choice of tools;  kind of like the difference between Vise-Grips and ChannelLock pliers.
