Apparently I was not clear about how asking these questions is pointless.

Asking if there is a Poser 8 SR 3.X will get no response. This is not answerable, either. SM has been BURNED by the FURY of the Rendo forum members about lack of integrity, and they will not get in that f'ed up situation again. 

Certainly many people on this forum are civil. But enough people scream bloody murder if SM says "we plan to release X on date Y" and then the date passes and X is delayed or they find out that doing X in next release makes more sense. The community as a whole does not beat the f*** out of such people, and so since they violate no TOS, they are allowed to respond in nasty ways. They stir up a lot of resentment for the company, its managers, and the product, and it simply is not worth it. Better to say nothing at all, and leave people questioning the sense of the decision not to speak.

Yes, it leaves all the well-meaning users in the dark. SM would like to communicate with you, but it only takes a few bad apples to spoil that, and that spoilage has already happened.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
