You dont need the actual props, just a good idea of the size relative to the figure.
I would stay with the Poser people and not V4, M4 etc because you can use the walk designer and a walk path to generate part of the animation. Then use a static pose of a person sitting say 60 frames ahead of the end of the walk, and let Poser fill in the rest. It will be rubbish , but then you pick intermediate frames and keyframe more of the action until its smooth enough.
You can also use the walk designer to transition to the end pose, and use one of the bvh files from freestuff for the turn and sit. A few small transitions to hide the rough spots, or simply some close up camera shots and you are done.
If you can avoid showing the feet its even easier. ;)
