I tend to buy characters and textures on the basis that I could spend the rest of my life trying to learn the skills and still never match the ones are for sale for a few dollars. I am trying to get my head around making my own textures and do some modelling but I am very aware of my limitations. This also explains my purchase of the odd tutorial as i am keen to expand my skills.
Price is a consideration but I will spend a fair bit for something I need that is good quality. That said I do look at the gallery and review sections before I make a final decision. As I am well into my Sci-Fi there are a couple of spacecrafts that I have been tempted to buy but they are pricey and there are no gallery examples or reviews and so I have resisted the temptation...well so far at least.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
