When "Galadriel" had two ATI 4870x2 cards in CrossFire and the Catalyst utility, Poser Pro would sometimes quit -just disappear- when I would import a new OBJ.  Someone wiser than I narrowed the problem down to Poser Pro calling for an OpenGL  protocol which the ATI cards/driver didn't have.  I replaced the ATIs with a Quadro, and never saw the problem again.  I'll quickly admit that there may have been some way to calibrate the ATIs to get them to preview my geometries without dying, but I never found it.  By the way, the ATIs gave gorgeous video display, and I never encountered a display frame rate limit with them.

You won't render any faster within Poser using a Quadro, but remember that the preview display which you see while setting up a scene makes much use of OpenGL.  If you also have Vue, a good video card with lots of on-board memory will make a remarkable improvement in preview quality and detail.

Quadro is overkill for Poser, but if you also use other studios, they may be worthwhile.  For the benefit of the newer forum folks:  the Quadro is nVidia's professional workstation video card series, as opposed to their gaming and general purpose GeForce series.  While the GeForce will be faster, the Quadro is more accurate and has greater capacity.

By the way, this laptop "Pixie" which I'm on at the moment has a Quadro 3600M, and Poser Pro 2010, Vue 9.5 Infinite, et al, are running quite happily.
