Quote - heh, heh. my connection is supposed to be 'up to 8Mb/s',  i actually get 1.9 to 1.6 Mb/s.

i still pay the same as someone who gets the full speed. people who live in/near major conurbations are actually spoilt a bit. those of us who live away from these areas tend to get a low speed, whichever provider we use.

Ah, it can go the other way, too. I live in the downtown core of my city, and my internet speeds are awful, especially during business hours. In fact, it got so bad a few months ago, that I could only watch Netflix between 3:30 and 5:00 am. So bad that my ISP refunded me for a month's service when I complained.
