I guess I owe everyone an explanation why I'm on this rant.  The photography forum staff picks a list of photos they find noteworthy every week.  A couple weeks ago when they posted their picks, I looked at them.  One of the photos had not received a single comment all week but another shot by one of the clique had the standard comments, ratings, favorites.  Cliquish followings hadn't even noticed an excellent photo under their nose.

Keep in mind I am not trying to act as a self-appointed, know-it-all art critic.  I am more perplexed that there are folks that take a blurry photo of a bug in a ditch, post it and get 40 comments, 40 5star ratings and 25 favorites within hours of the post.  I'm not an expert but I can see a blurry bug in a ditch isn't worthy of eventually making it to the gallery's best or most.  I state my case.

There is a member who frequently post in the Bryce gallery who is more a poet than 3d artist.  Their images are fairly simple to create but it is more a visual refection of the poetic narrative.  It is remarkable the number of comments from the regular gang are "great lighting and reflections", "remarkable Bryce work", etc...  It seems it doesn't matter a little ding dang other than it was the next on the "what's new" list to write something about then on to the next hoping it will buy them a return favor.  At least it seems that way to me anyway.

Yes, as Bobby said "I'm tilting at windmills".
