The messed up registry is sounding like the culprit - says the photographer with NO experience in programming.

I can re-install Vue no problem. Can't re-install Maya since it was a gift copy and going through registration and activation to get it to work was a nightmare.

Oh well, at least I'll get Vue to work again it seems.
