geekatplay, your diagrams and analysis are interesting. I had mentioned in a following post that a "person" in proper position on the bench could make it work...then the photo would not be a landscape scene but more of a photo in which a viewer might say, "humm...I wonder what exactly he is saying here." The mood would change focus dramatically.
I am fascinated by details in compositon which make or break a photo and which may have power to alter the entire mood when neatly applied.
As for the fisherman, on that evening none were cooperative enough to be in my photo, prefering to fish further upstream a while and race the fog to shore.
