Poser's usability features are atrocious, and that's a shame because there's a lot of really cool technology going on inside it. Of course if you can't even download or install it you will never know. I wonder if SM has any idea of how much drop off they have in users who download Poser and either cancel or abandon the product.

Usability factors are of particular interest to me, so I may be more sensitive to the issue than most, but even so there are so many obvious, glaring issues that I have to believe that it's just not a priority with them.

So if you really want to do some 3D graphics work be prepared to muscle your way through a lot of it. When you come to something that makes you wonder why it's behaving that way or why it's set up the way it is, the likely answer is that it really shouldn't behave that way or that it was a bone-headed feature to begin with.

Unfortunately DAZ isn't any better. I don't know about any of the other 3D products.
