Another question - If a prime member is purchasing gifts for others - would they be able to do so at the Prime price for items that are Prime items (whether or not they've bought the item for themselves)

One thought in connection with this - you have a nice system in the wishlists that have symbols to show if something is on sale, etc.  It would be nice to add another symbol that would indicate that the item is a Prime item.

Quote - I noticed on the prime article page that someone said some of the classic products that will be added to the prime category would only be there temporarily, so everyone should check the category frequently to see what's been added. My question is, will  there be a special email/newsletter sent out to notify members of when new products have been added, and/or when they are scheduled to be removed from the category?

Quote - Hi Faerydae, we are currently discussing this to see what the best way we at Renderosity think would be best : )

There is even a more important issue with this (though I think that's a good question as well).  How are people supposed to KNOW which items are temporary and which are permanent items?  I know I'm not familiar with every product to know if it's new or vintage. SOMEONE must have decided the answer to these things...and this is something I'd love to know BEFORE choosing to join.

Quote - Sorry your question was missed initially Norimaro.  You can purchase multiple years at the intro price.

That's really nice!  I know you aren't anticipating this - since Prime is something you are just starting.  But let's say that at some point after the first year you find this isn't working out and end the concept. If people have purchased several years of membership - would Rendo refund the balance of the paid membership?

The initial cost for this makes this seem a very good idea and a very good deal - particularly if you can get several years at this price.  It's just that there are SOOOO many uncertainties at this point that I think a lot of people (myself included) are hesitant to take advantage of it.

I'm sorry to sound so irritated, but it seems like there are SO many things about Prime that SHOULD have been thought out before bringing it out - REALLY obvious things like

-When exactly will the intro price for it end?

-How do we distinguish between items that are only temporary (which need to have a DATE the temporary prime pricing will end) and those that are permanent... and let the customers KNOW this information?

-How can we adjust/change our $5 minimum for purchases so that Prime members can purchase just one item and not always have to buy 2 at a time? (if I'm understanding things correctly, that is currently the case)

Rendo has some amazing products, but it seems that there is often a serious reluctance to let customers know when sales are scheduled to end.  If you just put a date and have it LONGER than that date, great - it's just a bonus.  But if there's no date, or if (as is often the case) the date on the product page may mean it ends the beginning of the day on that date or it may mean it ends the end of the day on the date, it creates confusion, causes frustration, and makes customers feel unimportant.

And if you're not sure about all this, it seems that extending the initial pricing until there IS some clarification of these issues would be nice.

These issues are making me unsure about purchasing the Prime membership - something which as I said appears on the surface to be a great deal!

Cheers,
Alisa
