Doc I know you still have a lot to cover, but I hope you can "xplane" what the Create Prespective UV's is for and when to use it and the same for Smoothing Id's. Never seen them discussed.
I assume and the problem is it's an assumption on my part that the smothing id is like taking the new group and assigning a new smoothing value to that new group as compared to the whole previous group.
The create perspective UV's I assume and again an assumption on my part is a dangerous thing...is it assigns the UV map to the new group. But if you don't do that then what? If you do do it what happens to your texture map from the original. Do you need to modify it based on the modifications you have made?
