Each rose is for a year. This year would have been 26 but was two instead. Two did not lessen the love at all and I must tell what happend to the 26 roses. I lost employment on December 31, 2010 and then a month prior to the anniversary my lovely wife was laid off her job. I simply did not have the funds to order 26 yellow roses, delivered...and delivered to where! She had no work place where the receptionist could call and say there is something here for you, a vase of roses she could carry to her work area to keep a few days. To me much of the joy is knowing she enjoys the roses and when coworkers stop and comment...ahh, that is a nice touch.
NO cash, no office for delivery...this year was 1 yellow rose for the 26th year and 1 red rose standing in for all the others. That red rose appears to be in this vase of dried roses, from what year I do not know. I do know the red one and one yellow rose were for this year and she did smile.
