This was extremely advanced work for the period. 1972 was the year "Pong" came out. This also preceded things like the apple 2 by a number of years. Only television studios had video recording equipment in those days.

Wow. That was amazing for 40 years ago. Sad this is the lady in the clip actually looked prettier than some of the models we use today.

Damn you! :)

That was cool. I coud literally see a lot the techniques we use now in that clip.

OT, how long has Poser been on the market? I seem to remember a friend of mine had a program similar to this back in 2001, but it wasn't nearly as advanced. You couldn't do much with the models.

If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

Poser has been around since 1995. I bought it first when Fractal Design published it. I recently came across the box. I think I bought it at Egghead Software. I know I purchased it after Animation:Master which I first ordered by phone for around $695 in 1994.

Holy cow. That's expensive. I bought Poser 8 at the military price in the Navy Exchange in Bahrain two years ago for $99. Things sure have changed.

Thank you for showing this. The process for scanning the hand was very interesting. Not that many years later, I was playing around with an early CAT scanner.

well, I hadda peek at this thread.  I agree, catmull-clark subdiv. is the greatest thing since sliced bread.  however, they don't all suck as artists AFAIK.  we saw from that other thread that both raj and rgus are pretty good.
