Wrong. Firms are there to make money. How they do that is up to them. Some may be able to make a fortune by satisfying their customers needs, others may decide it's not overall cost effective and go for the cult approach. A cult will buy from and support actions by a company who effectively craps all over them. There are plenty of them in business.
I am not stating or implying this is DAZ's approach, btw. Just making a point about how some firms work.
