Maybe you could have a configurable option and have Facebook be an "opt-in" kind of thing that a user could then elect and choose to view?
I don't have a Facebook account, but it still doesn't stop Facebook from setting a tracking cookie with a unique ID following me around the Internet.
Something to consider.
The more I learn of Facebook's abhorrent privacy practices the more I concerned I get when I come across Like buttons and login dialog boxes being thrust down my throat.
I can't imagine I'm alone in this regard.
But, if it was something that I could choose to opt-in for (the site's coded in PHP, right? So based on a flag set in the user database if I elect to choose Facebook then only then do you: include('facebook_feature.inc'); in the appropriate spot in the marketplace templates.
Something to consider.
