Maybe colors would probably be easiest for you to program. Number shaped geometry would be easiest for the users. The problem I see with both is if there is a large amount of markers. I think I had like 15 or twenty when I was doing a test on spiral curls. People might want to use this script for making more than just long straight hair and some of that could need alot of markers.
