Since I use only poser i to haver had to takle this one. what I do is use spotlights. One pointing at the torch from directly above and turn the angle start up to like 120, that covers the shadows under the torch. bext I put another spot above but angled out a bit and open thre angle start to 100. that puts more light on the floor. then a third spot even with the torch pointing at the wall the torg is mounted on, also i set the shadow map of that spot to 0 and the shadow to zero and that takes care of the torch. it takes time and ins't perfect but i get pretty good results
