As I understand it, the use of installers is preferred over zips because of the ability to put the EULA notice into the installers. If you click no you can't install the program or files as it quits on you. Which is all fine and dandy except that you've paid your money at that point, now you have to either agree to the EULA or jumpp through hoops to get your money refunded.
