I dunno man if lack of Genesis compatibility was truly making a dent in SM's projected profits, they'd be seeing that since the day P9 was released. Either their accounting is retarded, or they don't see it as all that big a difference - if it was really hurting them, then we wouldn't even be having this conversation, there wouldn't BE any compatibility issues. DAZ on the other hand, very obviously stands to make gobs of money if they can sell Genesis content to "the other side".
Or I guess the SM folks could just not like making money, maybe that's it.
