Seriously, I use a few utility scripts which save me a lot of time. One disables Reflect_Lite_Mult, one removes everything from Specular_Color and one removes everything from Reflection.
I used to use an Unhide_Tran script but nowadays I just edit the CR2 for stuff like that.
