Subject: Help with Texture problem

LuckyHolsten ( ) posted Tue, 27 December 2011 at 12:58 AM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 3:39 AM

1st let me say that I'm not in any way a pro at modelling or texturing, but I'm not new to it either. However, I am new to actually sharing my stuff online.
I have pretty much everything done and ready to go, except a little problem with the the textures.

The problem is when I load the file in Daz, it cannot find the textures. I can manually set the textures in the surfaces tab, that works fine and wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't planning on sharing, but since I am going to share I want the textures to automatically load with the object.

I know this has probably been asked before and if it has I'm sorry for reposting, but I've been searching and trying to figure this out for a couple days now and haven't come up with anything.

So yeah, how can I get the textures to load automatically when I load the object?

Also, for anyone wondering. This is what I plan on sharing :D

Open the cr2 file and make sure the "File Path" is correct, exp: "Runtime:Textures:texturefilename:texturefile.jpg". Each plane(Surface) has a name to it, FrontPlane, BackPlane, etc. You have to manualy code it in.

Example

prop strawboaterzero:1

 {

 material Ribbon

  {   KdColor 1 1 1 1

       KaColor 0 0 0 1

        KsColor 0 0 0 1

        TextureColor 1 1 1 1

         NsExponent 1   tMin 0   tMax 0   tExpo 0.6

         bumpStrength 1

         ksIgnoreTexture 0

         reflectThruLights 1

reflectThruKd 0             // Below is what you may have to code in //

         textureMap":Runtime:Textures:Skip1871:SkipsFreebies:Strawboater.jpg"

bumpMap NO_MAP      // You notice he has file within a file, this is not needed //

         reflectionMap NO_MAP

         transparencyMap NO_MAP

        ReflectionColor 1 1 1 1

         reflectionStrength 1

This is an example of what you will see
