I have mine built for me to my spec which largely avoids this problem that you speak of. I tell them what Mobo to use and all the other bits too. I do this at each new change, I guess I'm fortunate in having a good set of guys locally who do this..

The box I'm using now is 4/5 years old now but it's still way above spec of some new ones from the likes of pc world and Dell...
