Just my humble 2 ¢ worth

I think they are trying to pull a Microsoft*,and doing it to get their content development tools out into peoples' hands, as the development of third-party content for Genesis has lagged compared to the Intoduction of V4/M4.

 

• Back in the early '90s, Microsoft started giving their Windows development tools away after IBM targeted their operating system, OS/2,  to the mainstream PC market.  It was sucessful in getting more Windows software applications written...
