Well, it's about as real as the rest of his name. Which, even if you believe He existed, he definitely wasn't called. IIRC, the "Christ" bit means "Anointed" and if his first name was something similar to Jesus it's most likely it was whatever the ancient Hebrew equivalent of Joshua was at the time.
A moot point, since I'm Atheist. :)
