I did download all three free programs, but I haven't installed them and I'm not planning to.  I wouldn't have bought any of them for even $1.99.  But hey, if it's free, might as well grab them...just in case.

I doubt anyone's "whining" about the offer of free software.  (Well, except the ones who paid big bucks for it.)  The negative reaction is more because they raised people's expectations, but didn't deliver. "The single most important, game-changing, and industry-shaking announcement of the last several years"?
