Re: the point that Daz should have released a version of V5 for Poser; that is, not based on Genesis.

I think that unless V5 fixed Vicky's joint issues and other design flaws they never got around to correcting, there wouldn't be much point in releasing a Poser version of the Genesis V5. It would just be another body shape.

For all intents and purposes, the Poser community created the real V5 with the weightmapped-V4. The "official" Daz V5 is just a body shape for Genesis that they decided arbitrarily would be called V5.  A lot more people bought it (and the V5 bundles) than if it had been sold as just another Genesis female morph, so the strategy was quite effective.
