They should have silently behind the scenes given a free copy to any vendor who has sold a V4 item in their store.
I think they expected a title wave ala when V4 came out and got a ripple instead from their own loyal users (not counting the poser users for which Genesis and the export plugin has gotten zero traction.)
It is obvious that DAZ bought a reality distortion field generator at Steve Job's estate sale. And they are using on themselves, not their customers.
There was no chance in hell that a tidal wave of content was going to come out. New content creation tools, no documentation, no Poser compatibility. This had FAIL written all over it.
The real question is can they recover. Slash and Burn marketing doesn't work long-term. I suspect they will ride the plan down in flames, blaming their customers the entire time.
Oh, look, I just got an email from Smith Micro. Poser 9 & 2012 is on sale. How convienent.
