As much as I love Vue, I had to stop getting the upgrades once it starting getting so expensive. I guess us little hobbyist ppl are insignificant now ;). And I started with version 2. How things change.

I've had issues with Vue not running right on my computer in the past, but now I have a 64 bit system with 16 gbs of ram and it's running better--it just takes forever to render a large image.  I started with version 4, but after Vue 5 it started boggind down my 32 bit system so much I could only render very simple scenes with Poser figures without crashing the program.  I do not reccomend Vue to anyone who does not have a 64 bit computer who wants to render Poser scenes with it.  E-on is having a sale on the "artist series" Vue programs right now.  I wish I could learn to do landscapes in Carrara better, it does seem to tax my computers resources as severely, but their trees, plants, and skies aren't nearly as realistic as Vue's--and Bryce is even more perplexing to me.

Dang! My local Barnes and Noble does not carry 3D magazines anymore-but they had FOUR iPhone magazines!!

That is true! I don't think there are male gens either.

When they had a big sale a month or so back I bought DS4 Advanced, V5 Pro, and a few other related items. It crashed when I tried to apply the prop-so I cant say how it looked though. V5 is a nice morph character over all-and the bending is superb-but I have V4-WM now so that's no longer a prob with V4. I can't say how it looks with the Uber Lighting and Adanced Human shader-because it would not render. The basic shape is good though

Returned because DS4 is way too unstable on my Mac Pro Intel Quad Xeon (1st Gen). Caveat: told it works well on late model Mac Book Pros.

Quote - I've seen it posted that V5 out of the box has no gen detail. You have to buy an expensive Pro bundle to get that. But I can't speak from personal knowledge.

I want to say something here-but I'm at a loss. :-) I may have lost a brain cell

The genesis male has no gens yet--but I have read on other forums that M5's pro bundle will have the goods.  I did buy a rather good male gens set for Genesis at Renderotica--smart content and all, and it will take M4 gen texture maps.  So if I don't buy the M5 Pro Bundle I do have the equipment on hand if I need it.  It's good to have options.   I have also read that you can buy 3rd party gens for V5 too.  I hope that that any character texture sets will include maps for the gens as well as it is sometimes hard to match skin tones without them--Ryu and Niegel come with gen maps--they have texturing for standard M4 though.

Really, I don't know why gens should be extra, a complete human body has genitals (though some people find them distasteful and don't even want to see them in their runtime libraries)--I guess this arrangement would please them.  At least Daz could sell the gens separately if people don't like the extra stuff in the Pro Bundle then then could pick and choose the exact content they want.

I remember when a figure came with body poses, texture maps, facial expression poses, hand poses, and gens on even the most basic level.  I'd perfer a complete setup and would pay a little extra for it, now everything is ala' carte'.

Sorry...nipples extra was a running joke between me and a friend of mine on seeing the new neuter based figure. Just a wax statue with no nippies. We figured those cost extra..lol. I almost understand selling the base figure with no gens, but no nipples?? Nipples are harmless! Don't both sexes have em? Reminds me of Barbie and Ken shiver. Fine if you're 5. We aren't 5...lol.

I actually DID get it-and laugh. I just could not think of anything to add to it.

Given the DazPhobia of the human body-and the way they are handling- uhm, dealing (or not) with certain body parts-it would NOT have surprised me if nipples were Geografted extras. The idea that they were trying to make a figure that moved more realistically-while eliminating body parts-is amusing.

I imagine some poor contract modeler making complete male or female shapes-and the panic and horror ensuing at Daz Headquarters... :-)

GI Joe was lacking in that department too.  Mine seemed to want to be a nudist.

HAHA!  I vaguely remember that.

In keeping with the Barbie tradition of neutering I guess.
