Wonderful options and I can see them all working.  I like getting feedback for challenge themes from members, but only if everyone wants to continue the monthly challenges. If not, I'd love suggestions with what to substitute in it's place. 

Even the giant TV neworks only film new shows of part of the year and then they take a few months off to build some tension and anticipation before beginning anew.
