Yes that is correct, all sample scenes will crash when trying to render and I am not the only one with that problem. My own scenes render correctly.

Additionally my system is stable, housed in a HAF932 case with high quality PSU etc etc etc, temps when rendering dont exceed 50 degrees.

I should add that I use 3D Max 2012 nearly all day and I won't bore you with the details but all other programs work perfectly. Well apart from Company Of Heroes which crashed the other month just as I was about to take Hill 112 dammit! :)
