Where is Poser installed? What version of Windows? Sounds like you installed them to the runtime in the folder with the program. If you have Windows Vista or 7, you can't do that if you have UAC turned on. Those windows versions prevent data from being written to the Program Files (64bit) and Program files (x86) (32bit) folders.
For what it's worth, this problem comes up at LEAST 2 or 3 times a week. Do a search. There's plenty of info out there.
