I hope we have some tech people out there. I just built a new computer from the ground up, my old harddrive is not compatible w/the motherboard, so I got a new HDD, with the same version of win 7 home premium, I can istall bryce but it won't let me run it.

I just keep getting this warning. Is there a certain C++ I need? I have googled it and was told to look at  sxstrace.exe, but that window just flashes and goes away.

Any help would be helpful, only been a couple of days, but already going throu withdrawls.

Hello...

I had this very same problem... After searching I found this post.

https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/entries/20633961-side-by-side-configuration-in-bryce-7

I did everything they suggested here but still didnt work...

Fortunately I had a previous version of Bryce 7 ( one of the many updates...) tried it and worked... So I would suggest you to do the same and see... obviously the latest update has some bug.

                   Cheers

I actually bought PRO when it was first released, but wasn't able to use it beacause of this problem for three months before Whimsical came up with the solution in that thread. I had actually given up on B7.

marforno ( ) posted Mon, 12 March 2012 at 1:11 AM

Hmmm That is strange ... All worked just fine in my computer until I upgraded to the latest release , unless uninstalling got rid of that too... Anyways now works ...:-)

Is anybody having trouble using the bridge of the latest DS to send poser content ( an imported pz3) into Bryce 7?

I still can't make it work.

Might consider this a sticky. I know what to look for at DAZ but it can sometimes be burried a good many pages back. lol

Ok, lets put this forum to the test. I have Bryce, (yippee). But when I open it, it asks me if I want this prigram to make changes to windows, never has done that before.

And I didn't run as admin., and then it changes the color scheme to windows, A damned ugly blue to boot.

I usually have Bryce open most of the time, my last render took 3 weeks, I don't want to look at this blue all the time.

The icon has a shield on it, that also is new.

Any Ideas?

I'm sure no virus, this windows has been istalled less than 5 days. And the article is ineresting, but I had aero running on my last hdd.

I did have this happen with Jasc Paint Pro, Thought it was just that program. I will get to the bottom of this.

Bryce doesn't like Aero running so it would change the background to a default color... If you try to make it run as a win admin. program to use the theme, you'll get what I'll call, "rubber band effect". The background will remain the same as YOUR background but then if you try to use the "spray can" icon on the side, it'll crash Bryce without warning. I just put up with it for a short period of time and render while I'm away from the computer, so I don't have to look at the "ugly robin egg blue"

Ah. Always help here :)

mikedaddysmooth ( ) posted Wed, 14 March 2012 at 12:29 PM

I am running the same version of windows that I did before and had no problems, Win 7 64 bit home premium. If this had happened before, I would have no qualms.

Now, my friends, this is a challenge.

Ok, I cheated... I think. I went ahead and installed it on my secondary hdd, based with the same version of windows on my main hdd (7 Home Prem) and I have none of the problems. Thanks for everyones help, and for making this a sticky.

I hope more people bring their problems, because there are some awesome people here.
