Between just you and me, Vue wants its units set to 1.0 = 1m. Not 0.1, not "ft", not "in". As trees go, in your next life you can resize your trees to what they look best as and then save them as your own VOBs if you can for later use.
About the depth not saving. I wonder if you ever got a warning message from Vue asking if you're sure to turn that off before saving, blah blah. And it was one of those questions you just click OK to without really reading it (like I do sometimes) and Vue thinks you'll always asnwer that way and never ask you again about it. And since you didn't read the question, you never think too much about it months later when you need to do something you used to be able to do you thought. He he.
