Quote - Terminology is o.k. i guess. I do not know if you noticed, but there are additionally two strange spots in the background of your GC2.2 image (see markers above). Those i could not reproduce btw.

 

There was a backdrop in the scene but it was way back and not recieving any light. IDL was disabled for this. They only appear on the GC render.
