Subject: Need some help on this MatMatic shader please

TheAnimaGemini ( ) posted Mon, 16 April 2012 at 5:11 AM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 4:14 AM

I try to create a vineglass shader with vine inside.

The glass looks not so bad till now, but the vine...I can not get this rich red color from the vine.

It looks so dull, no matter what I try.

Anny suggestions?

The first render is with GC, no lights, only BB Env.Prop.

The second no GC, same settings

Sorry , forget the material

It works only on Glass props properly

For another usage you have to refine the displ. :)

I am on an airplane about to take off, so I will have difficulty helping at the moment.

There is a rendo thread in which I posted a wine glass and shader for it. Search for posts by me, using words wine and glass.

I will check on you later. Much later.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

You wouldn't be willing to share the code, by any chance? I'd hate to have to reverse-engineer this stuff...

Robinsveil, you can download the shader  from my website . Feel free to download it :D

The link I post above.

Whey I don't put the shader code as JPG online...it is to long LOL

I've downloaded the shader... which is what that screenshot is of. What I'm curious about is the Matmatic script that created the shader. 😄

But I can tell you, I used BB glass shader as basic , Study it and build the shader new up from scratch like you see now.

It's not a matmatics shader, I think,  but Fisty posted liquid shadeers for DAZ's 24 days of Christmas:

http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=178340&flatnum=1

and a preview is here: http://forum.daz3d.com/postimages/origimage_1_3192045.jpg

Maybe you could use those as a base?

TheAnimaGemini ( ) posted Mon, 16 April 2012 at 10:10 AM

Thanks, I don't need a base. :) I need some suggestions what I do wrong on the Vine.

Fistys shader are not really what I am looking for.:)

I have created my own base.

No, THIS shader is not MatMatic. I try to create it with Matmatic , but it looks odd, after I do the shader new from scratch.

Now I would like to know some suggestions what I did wrong.

Sorry for the confusion. It is hard to explain when English is not your native.

I try to create a Glass and vine with shader.

At first I study BB Glass shader, use his tipps and tricks in Matmatik, write the code, but my shader looked odd.

So I build up a new from scratch without MatMatic. The Glass looks fine to me till now, only the redvine looks dull.

For this I would like to have some suggestions.

Why the red looks so dull?
