Putting yourself in harms way for the benefit of journalism is commendable for those who are willing.  We all benefit in some ways from the fact they are there doing that job.

Bending over backwards for a photo literally when bending is not needed in the middle of a peaceful scene...well, maybe it "feels" like the way a photog is supposed to do and feels like a better shot. : ) The low to the ground stuff I do a lot of...often the best pov for me and often renders a fine photo more than the "standard" height.  With one foot that acts up now and then, I sometimes fall the last several inches into position.   Hummm, I had not considered knee pads!
