From Marvelous Designer.COM:
With 3D modeling tools
Marvelous Designer can import any COLLADA and OBJ files from most of 3D modeling tools such as 3DS Max, Maya, SoftImage, LightWave, Poser, Daz Studio, Vue and Modo. And avatar and cloth files can be exported in OBJ format.

From the FAQ on the site:
Q: Nothing appears when opening OBJ or COLLADA avatar files. What is wrong?
A:
- Transparent object: some 3D tools may export OBJ or COLLADA model as completely transparent. In this case you can change the transparency yourself in Marvelous Designer. First find "Obj Root" or "Collada Root" item in "3D Simulation" item in the Object Browser Window placed on top-right. And select any child "Mesh" item of "Shape" item which is a child of the Root item. Last, change the "Transparency" in Property Editor Window to see the Avatar.
- Scale: The imported model could be too tiny to see. For this case try to scale it up when importing.
They also have a forum on their site for questions specific to the application's features but I would say based on this info - yes, obj import is supported. I would NOT expect the runway feature/plugin to work with those figures though.
