Quote - Its a bit dissapointing since 3Dlight does not suffer this kind of problem. I did try to render it in UE after it kept crashing when LUX started then realizing I can try mem conservative. I have to admit it does look better with LUX.
3Delight does not render images using full light soectrum data. That is what allows you to adjust the light power and the camera exposure while rendering. 3Delight cooks the pixels to RGB and if you need to adjust anything you need to re-render the image with the next light intensities. 3Delight does not come close to thr complexity of the light and materials calculations performed by LuxRender.
Using full spectrum light data takes a lot more memory. At 8gb it's hard to keep all that geometry and textures in memory. I added the texture collection options exactly to provide a good, easy way of working around memory limitations of the rendering hardware.
Another way is to reduce the resolution size of the image. That matters too. Another option is to:
use the "Export only" checkbox
close Studio and other programs and then
run Lux manually to render the exported scene.
Like with any program, if you ask the computer to process more data that fits your memory, you are going to hit the RAM barrier?
Hope this helps
