Quote - Question what is the best settings to create wet looking skin? Just turn up the gloss??
OT topic one thing I dont understand with these supposed improved version of studio is why the lighting rendering engine never seem to improve much? I think UE pretty well looks the same as it does in 3...
Aside from having a wet skin map, gloss of 8500-9100 or higher and a light blue specular color gives the wet/slick look.
As for the render engine, 3Delight is actually a product that you can update separately from here last I checked (around a year ago mind you) http://www.3delight.com/en/index.php
I'm not sure if Daz ever has gone above the 8.x version for Studio, but I have 9.something and its not much different either. You can get pretty good results running the Renderman version but I haven't the foggiest how you go about that. Seen it done, never done it myself. At any rate, it's not Lux
Correction: latest version is 10.4, here http://www.3delight.com/en/index.php?page=3DSP_download
In the nearly fine print, it does say the free version is limited to dual core performance, meaning if you have more than a dual core, it's gonna cost you some bucks to unlock full potential.
