Isn't this a wonderful problem to have? I'll bet Metacreations (or was it then Fractal?) never dreamed we'd have such vibrant communities making free or incredibly inexpensive models so easy to come by. (Check out Viewpoint's prices on models sometime for comparison). Anyway, I've not found a solution but I can tell you what I do. 1. Starting with the Zip files - I download the zip files and try to organize them in Poser Download sub-directories (folders) by figure type (P4, Victoria, Michael, etc). I've learned to save a copy of the Thumbnail from Renderosity (or wherever I'm downloading from). Frequently that's the easiest way to peruse your downloads. Periodically, I archive the Zips off onto a CD - or several as the case may be. I've gotten to where I only install the files I actually have immediate plans for. 2. I also periodically archive my Runtime directories (Geometries, Characters, Hair, Props, etc.) onto CD's. I make certain I do the Runtime archives as a set, number and date them so I can match them up in the future if I need to. Then I can use: a. Paint Shop browser to browse thumbnail images of the zip files. b. P3DO to browse the .rsr or thumbnails of the Runtime directories on the CD c. Smartcat (disk cateloger) to search by keyword all the CD's in my collection whether Poser files, rendered images, models, etc.
