I have recently published with Amazon Kindle.. while it is free to self-publish.. there are several things you should know.... Copyright.. you will have to copyright it yourself..over the net it's only $35... and virtually instant.

To publish with Kindle e-books.. you will probably run into something that I did... when you upload.. rarely, does it come out the way you expected.. the paragraph formatting, page breaks and chapter breaks.... you can pay to have this fixed.. find a friend who will work with HTML or do it yourself... which I actually recommend... IF you use something like Kompoozer... free, by the way... it gives you a WYSIWYG side-by-side of what you are doing... you will, of course, have to get the free kindle app and editor.. you get that from them, as well.. free. The Other option at Amazon takes a bit longer... you can opt for "hard copy" books... paperback or hardbound.. thing is.. there is a three-month lead time on those.. BUT... you CAN publish e-book Kindle.. THEN switch to a "dual" where SOME are being printed while the rest is being sold as e-books. I strongly recommend looking into your options LONG before you are ready to publish.. believe me.. it helps. Lou.
