Nope, 9.5 wasn't an upgrade... umm, i don't think LOL. Coulda been, though, but I doubt it...I think when I bought 9.5 (its on disc, btw... I didn't want JUST an electronic copy like my 7inf is!), they no longer offered an upgrade/sidegrade from 7? Agggh, its been a year... and my memory sucks.
My 7 infinite IS an upgrade from 6 pro studio, which was an upgrade from Esprit LOL. (strange that I can remember THAT, but not if 9.5 is an upgrade/sidegrade or not...)
I believe folks CAN sell old versions, but it's not recommended if you have a "newer" version that was an upgrade from an older one (like my 7inf). Don't quote me on that... LOL. Reselling software is an iffy propsition anyway.
Other folks might be able to tell ya better...
As for logs... I wouldn't know LOL (where to find them, or anything LOL). Usually I tell windows to stop looking for a solution (cus it never finds one anyway), and restart Vue. Vue crashing is just a way of life... but it DOES seem a lot more unstable on Windows 7... on my XP 64 pro, Vue rocked. Only crashed like once every week - and simple solution then was to just reboot my system (something i hate to do). If I rebooted now every time Vue crashes, I'd end up rebooting over a dozen times in a vue work session (anywhere up to 8 hours LOL)
For my own crashes... its random. Editting a terrain and doing 3D sculpting of it seems to be a big one. So I rarely attempt that! Sometimes, it's simply editting a material. Other times, it's hitting the render button. Other times it seems to be clicking ANYWHERE if Vue isn't "ready" for me to click.
Rarer than a hairy egg and madder than a box of frogs....
