Okay, thanks for the answers, guess it is time to go off and try this now.  Kind of wish I had an older system to stick DS on, but the way computer upgrades go around our house is that I always have the newest one, because I am the one that uses it the most and whatever I am replacing gets passed down the line to another family member.  So cms just has to stay a no go, but not normally an issue as I am not involved in content creation. :)
