np. i use it relative to surface occasionally in hard to reach places, but i find that relative to screen gives more control and a much more 'modeling clay'-like feel to the thing.
for smoothing youll want it relative to surface for best results.
i rarely use it set to 'push' since you can both push/pull with the pull brush if its set to relative to screen.
and i use my mouse, not my tablet, in case anyones wondering if you need a tablet for this. you dont. in fact 95% of my morphing is done with the mouse for more control.
