Subject: Bryce 7 Installation problem

Jack Casement ( ) posted Sat, 07 April 2012 at 7:06 AM · edited Sat, 22 February 2025 at 5:43 PM

I have just got a new computer and have tried to install Bryce 7 but I get this error report

"This programme has failed to start because it's side by side configuration is incorrecr"

Any ideas please? It worked perfectly on my old computer

Cheers

Dan thank you so much.  The error message has gone but it is now asking for the serial number.  But this was a free programme so where do I find it?  Cheers.  Jack

The serial should be under Available Serial Numbers in your DAZ account.

Yup that's where it should be...just had to do that myself yesterday as I'd forgotten to reinstall Bryce after my HDD makeover

I had to reinstall my OS and now I get the same "side by side error". When I click the link you supplied, I get a 404 error and am dead in the water.

Can you please give it out again so I can get to it to fix my Bryce installation problem?

I'd guess that the error you're getting has to do with DAZ redoing their website. I read somewhere that they aren't moving the forum content to the new site. Don't know if it's true or not.

I had the same suspicion. Seems like we get usd to a process and then they change it for the "better" but then it isn't quite as user-friendly as we were used to.

I figured it out though, as I had saved tha data from the last time we went through this.

Thanks Ravyns, I appreciate your quick response.

At the risk of being a hijacker, I have a different install warning:  "Bryce 7.(whatever the free version from Daz is) is not a valid Win32 operation and may damage your computer."

I am running Windows 7 64 bit and presently have this thing sitting in My Downloads.  Should I delete it and buy a more compatable version later?

bobbystahr ( ) posted Fri, 15 June 2012 at 9:41 PM

been no reports of that here so far...maybe hop oner to the DAZ3D forum and see if it's been reported as a bug or something...

I have the same problem but the link suggested by dan whiteside isn't working. Can anyone actually enter the solution rather than a link.

Thanks so much.

I discovered the problem. Something was amiss with my C++ (.86).

Use the following link to Microsoft.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=26347

Download and run vcredist_x86.EXE

Oh. and here is the Bryce 7 Pro serial number you need:

**BDZCPRO-070-0287868-WST-001-OBVAMHI
**

Hope this helps others.

Go here:

Scroll down to the first download, works wonders.

File this one away.
