Quote - is it the reality_scene.lxs or the reality_scene.lxm? the lxs file only wants to open with Luxrender.exe
Right-click the .lxs file, select Open With, then if Notepad isn't listed, select the 2nd option (Select a program from a list of installed programs), then Browse, and find Notepad (which is in C:Windows). Make sure the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is unchecked.
