Great image. No keep the head as it is!!! Please, to me that is what gives it the 3D feel. I think I kinda agree with Dorsukal the bright band which seems to almost emerge from the skuls nostril is a little jarring. I think the color is to bright. Perhaps you can tone it down just a very little tad bit and add the same texture as the top of the photo. It also makes me imagine that the skull could be breathing fire from the nostril.
