The base mesh as iimported in Poser is not smoothed at all. That means you have sharp edges at some points (toes, fingers are prominent) but also morphs create edges in places which are normally flat (such as abdomen). Genesis without morphs is fine - the problem starts when you start to move the polygons - then the spikes occur

With a higher resolution (highres, level 0) all these smooth out and you don't have these edges.

Here is an example what happens if you combine morphs (ok, a bit extreem here thin and emanciated - but it shows what I mean)
